Do mystery plays intrigue you?

Murder mystery plays are an experience unlike any other. They are a great way to socialise with friends, family, co-workers and complete strangers. If you are going to participate in murder mystery shows for the first time you will want to get into character so you can enjoy your evening.

It is not uncommon for murder mystery nights to have a theme. For example, it might be set during the 1920’s and 30’s with unique characters and original plots. It might not be mandatory to wear such period specific clothing but it is much more fun to do so and embrace the theme. It is really fun to be someone different for one night.

In a murder mystery show, you will need to work and socialise with other guests to gather important clues. But you need to keep in mind that one of the guests might be the murderer and it could be you. You need to think about who your allies are early in the game because some characters will help you and others will be told to hinder you in your path to the truth. Always remember that everyone is acting and staying in character so some will be standoffish and hide secrets that they don’t want you to find out.

Your character will have some secrets you don’t want other guests to know. You will need to keep your secrets close to your vests and only share general information about your character. Other guests will likely share more information if you volunteer information about yourself first. Don’t be afraid to eavesdrop on other people’s conversation as you may find out some interesting information that can use.
