Close Up - The Twiggy Musical, will enjoy a limited two-month run at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory between 18 September and 18 November, 2023. The world-premiere musical, written and directed by Ben Elton, will feature a talented and experienced cast. The Story of an Icon

Speaking about the musical, Twiggy said: “It’s very unexpected, but truly an honour, to see my own life translated onto stage - and I can’t imagine a better, more generous, collaborator than Ben. I’ve been approached before about sharing my story, but never has the alchemy felt so right.”

Elena Skye - Twiggy

Having recently played Scaramouche in the hit West End production We Will Rock You, Elena Skye plays renowned supermodel, Twiggy, in the biopic musical. Speaking about the casting, Ben Elton said, “In Elena, we’ve found a glorious talent - not just a unique voice, but someone who’s funny, honest and utterly authentic, very much like Twiggy herself.” Having trained at the Royal Academy of Music, Skye has appeared in many hit productions including Les Miserables and Kinky Boots.

Cast Line-Up

Joining the wonderfully talented Elena Skye as Twiggy is Lauren Azania AJ King-Yombo (The Magic of Motown, UK & European tour) as Kay and Matt Corner (Jersey Boys, West End/UK tour) as Justin de Villeneuve. Darren Day (Footloose, UK tour) joins the cast as Michael Witney, while Beth Devine (White Christmas, UK tour) plays Sally, and Aoife Dunner (Stephe Sondheim’s Old Friends, West End) plays Cindy.

Hannah-Jane Fox (Tommy, West End) is cast as Nell Hornby and Steven Serlin (Hairspray, Kilworth House) is Normal Hornby.  The lineup is completed by Emma-Katie Adcock, Liam Buckland, Harriot Bunton, Leanne Garretty, Luke Johnson, David McIntosh, Danny Nattrass, Sydney Spencer and Karen Walker.

Creatives

The creative team includes choreographer Jacob Fearery, who was associate choreographer on We Will Rock You in Berlin. Set and video designer Tim Bird, costume designer Jonathan Lipman and sound designer Gregory Clarke are also on the creative team alongside, wig and makeup designer Diana Estrada Hudson, and musical director and orchestrator Stuart Morley.
