Syon House is the spectacular London home of the Duke of Northumberland.

The house was built in the sixteenth century on the site of the Medieval Syon Abbey, and came to the family of the present owners in 1594. Syon has many layers of history and has seen some profound changes over the centuries.

In the light of the latest government announcement, Syon House is delighted to welcome back visitors to free roam the house and enjoy the Robert Adam interiors at their leisure with knowledgeable house stewards on hand to help enhance their visit.  However, subject to change along with government guidelines.

We have installed a series of measures to enhance the safety of visitors and staff, including circulation routes, social distancing, and enhanced cleaning.

  • You may be asked to wear a mask.

  • You must not enter if you are self-isolating or if you have symptoms of Covid-19


Please respect these rules, which are for the safety of everyone, visitor and staff, for those at home and those at work. 

Visitors who do not respect these rules will not be admitted, or will be asked to leave.

The house is currently open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays only, please check the callender as dates may change. Tickets must be booked in advance.

Appropriately trained and recognised assistance dogs are welcome on site. Pet dogs or those not providing tangible assistance to a disabled person will not be permitted.

The use of drones, or similar small unmanned aircraft, without prior permission is strictly prohibited within Syon Park.  For more information email info@syonpark.co.uk.

Yes you can. Some have restrictions and you must bring the valid special offer/membership card on the day as proof. See our Promotions page for more details. Please note that these are only valid during the season for general House and gardens opening. Not valid for special events.

Yes you can, but not on the front lawn or in or around the Great Conservatory. There isn't a wet weather option and all rubbish must be taken off site.

Yes, there is a free car park that is available for those visiting one of the businesses on the park. Parking is entirely at owners risk. Syon Park will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to vehicle or contents. 

A child is 5 to 16 years inclusive.  Under 5s are free. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

No, not in the house or gardens.

No, however we do have partnerships with the Historic Houses Association (HHA) and Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) members.

As we are only a partner garden only the main card holder receives the membership benefit, which is free entry into the gardens. If you are a member of RHS please book any additional tickets for the gardens only here that you will require, and then you can claim your extra free ticket from the visitors centre on arrival, upon proof of membership.

One Free entry. If you are a member of HHA please book your group's tickets and use the promocode HHA to claim your one free ticket. Be sure to show the Visitors Centre staff your proof of membership on arrival or you will be charged.

No, only standard picnics. 

Yes. The Hillier Garden Centre, now open, and you are welcome to enjoy the terrace of The Courtyard Restaurant.

Access Information

There is limited access for wheelchairs, pushchairs, sight and hearing dogs.
Motorised scooters are not permitted in the House
We have a limited number of free wheelchairs available on a first come first served basis, check with staff when you arrive.

Appropriately trained and recognised assistance dogs are welcome on site. Pet dogs or those not providing tangible assistance to a disabled person will not be permitted.

There is a cafe open from 8.30am - 5.30pm. More details can be found here.

There are designated disabled parking spaces in the car park.

There is an accessible toilet in the block in front of Syon House
Additional accessible toilets are located next to the Garden Kitchen Restaurant in the Garden
Centre

For visitors who require the assistance of a carer, the accompanying carer can enter the House and gardens free of charge. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.

Syon House has stepped access (8 stone steps in total) to the Great Hall, a few stairs on the principal floor and a large staircase up to the bedroom floor.
Syon House does not have a lift however it does have a stair climber.
We unfortunately do not have any ramps for access for motorised scooters or wheelchairs into
Syon House.
The Visitor Centre and Great Conservatory are accessible for wheelchairs and scooters.
We regret that The Undercroft, the Courtyard and bedroom floor have no disabled access.

Many of our staff have first response first aid training. Should you require assistance please ask any member of staff.

In an emergency please contact a member of staff.

We have a no smoking policy in all of our buildings. Smoking is permitted whilst walking in and
enjoying the grounds.
