The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Booking Info

Don’t panic! A new live version of Douglas Adams’ mind-blowingly imaginative comedy (mis)adventure, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy, lands at Riverside Studios this November.

Join Arthur Dent, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Fenchurch and many more as you escape the destruction of Earth with seconds to spare and begin a search for answers to the mystery of Life, the Universe and Everything, armed only with a towel and one VERY depressed robot.

The night begins in a rather unusual pub as you settle in, drink in hand, for an evening of storytelling and spectacle. From there, the story lifts off – quite literally – as you hitch a ride on a passing spaceship, discover the meaning of life, and join a quest to persuade a group of inter-dimensional mice to give the Earth a second chance.

Brought to life by an award-winning creative team, and featuring a multi-talented company of actors, this inventive take on Douglas Adams’ classic draws from the best examples of immersive, musical theatre, dance and magic to deliver a truly out of this world experience and a complete night out.

FAQS

It’s a brand-new, immersive stage adaptation of Douglas Adams’ legendary sci-fi comedy, co-created by an Emmy, Tony, Olivier and Grammy winning team schooled in theatre, immersive, television, dance and live music.

The show invites audiences on a 90-minute, infinitely improbable adventure through multiple spaces at London’s Riverside Studios, going on a quest for the secret to life, the universe and everything.  The show features beloved characters like Arthur Dent, Fenchurch, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Marvin the Paranoid Android, and all the rest of the unlikely crew of hitchhikers – including you…

Yes. Is that confusing?  Maybe, but our show is both.

The show draws from the best examples of immersive, musical theatre, dance and magic to deliver a truly out of this world experience and a complete night out.

Song, dance, laughs, scares, existential dread and true love lay before you.  In some sections of the show, you might be comfortably seated, enjoying a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster whilst the action unfolds before you, in other bits, you could be grabbing your towel and trying to use it to fend off poetry-speaking Vogons…  the degree of interaction is entirely up to you. If you’re the sort of person who wants to flirt with Eccentrica Gallumbits or engage in a battle of wits with Marvin the Paranoid Android, you can. If you’d rather just observe and not be part of the action, we got you.

We have two different ticket types: Standard and VIP.

With a Standard Ticket, you’ll get admission to watch The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Live Show, and enjoy the 90 minute spectacular of theatre, immersive, music and magic.

With a VIP Ticket, you’ll get to enjoy the show PLUS

  • Priority entry
  • Reserved seating
  • 1x Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster (choose your level of lucidity: alcoholic or non-alcoholic)*
  • 1x collectible ‘Infinite Improbability Deck’ of cards

* Or choose from something marginally less mind-altering: beer, house wine, or soft drink.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled performance to allow for ticket checks and to experience the full immersive entry.

Beverages will be available throughout the show. Riverside Studios also offers a bar and café. Check their website for opening times and menu.

Yes, the show will be wheelchair accessible throughout.

Yes, fully trained assistance dogs are welcome, but please note that they must be able to remain calm in dynamic environments with loud noises, flashing lights, and large groups of people. They should be clearly identified with a vest or harness, remain under control at all times, and not disrupt performances or interactive elements. If you prefer, venue staff can look after your dog at the box office for the duration of the performance.
